Stephanie Rivera Cepeda, SLPD, CCC-SLP
Dr. Stephanie Rivera Cepeda was raised in Compton and Lynwood by a teen mom and became a first-generation college graduate. After returning home to her community, she realized how many unmet needs there were with children and families who needed support with navigating special education and accessing services for children with communication disorders. This drove Dr. Cepeda to create a practice where she and her team could help bridge the gaps in each child’s communication and learning.
Cotorro Communication Center is her way of creating a space where bilingual children are seen, and families feel supported.
La Dra. Stephanie Rivera Cepeda fue criada en Compton y Lynwood por una madre adolescente y fue la primera generación de graduada universitaria de su familia. Después de regresar a su comunidad, se dio cuenta de cuántas necesidades había en niños y familias que necesitaban apoyo para navegar la educación especial y acceder a servicios para niños con trastornos de comunicación. Esto llevó a la Dra. Cepeda a crear una práctica donde ella y su equipo pudieran ayudar a cerrar las brechas en la comunicación y el aprendizaje de cada niño.
El Centro de Communication Cotorro es su manera de crear un espacio donde los niños bilingües sean vistos y las familias se sientan apoyadas.

Mark Rodriguez
Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)
Mark is a bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) who brings a warm, collaborative approach to his work with children and families. He has extensive experience supporting neurodivergent children, tailoring therapy to honor each child’s unique communication style and strengths. Mark’s background includes working with early intervention populations and school-age children in a variety of settings, from homes to schools to clinics. This range of experience has shaped his ability to adapt therapy approaches across different environments while building strong partnerships with caregivers. Mark is passionate about empowering families through education, collaboration, and support, believing that progress happens best when caregivers feel confident and included in the therapy process.

Ivette Morones
Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)
Ivette is a bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) who brings both clinical expertise and cultural responsiveness to her work with children and families. She is pursuing her Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Baylor University, where she is expanding her knowledge in evidence-based practices and therapeutic interventions. Ivette is passionate about providing neurodiversity-affirming care, that honors and celebrates each child’s communication style and strengths. In her therapy, she incorporates child-led, play-based methods to create meaningful opportunities that foster confidence and authentic communication. As both a clinician and an advocate, Ivette is committed to supporting and empowering caregivers, and creating inclusive environments where children can thrive.
